A recurrent dream

Loved it, hated it, cursed it, blessed it.. A mixed bag of emotions! Its only when you reach the end do you realise how wonderful the journey was...
The night of 29th July 2009... That's when my journey began. The night was ripe and, for the first time, I entered AH5-310... BITS Pilani Goa Campus, that's the way I remember it, a deadly combo of discipline, fun, frolic, rules and academics!
Morning dawns and thats when I get a view of the majestic B-dome.. And began the ritual of classes, clubs, inductions, projections and rejections. Looking back, I have had it all..

The sleeping sessions in lecture theaters, getting thrown out eventually..
The long wait in front of the library for the girl who never came..
The rush of parading the campus streets shouting slogans and slangs...
The innumerable kicks on butts both personal and impersonal...
The countless prom night rejections...
The over-enjoyable WAVES nights...
The head-splitting drones of aircrafts round the clock..
The stupid Facebook updates...
The blog posts that taught me to write...
The heart-throbbing scent of untied hair and jasmine cologne...
The hoping and praying to get noticed in her eyes somehow...
The presentations that always ended with a timid smile...
The professors who trained you enough to deal with the most evil of bosses...
The hollow ragging threats from seniors and to juniors...
The moonlight walks behind the cricket ground...
The late-night sessions on lawn-tennis court, usually ending with star-gazing...
The few female friends who always provided great advice and a keen ear to listen...
The pathetic jokes that made people unwilling to live on...
The movies, games, TV series, sleepy internet and educative java tutorials...
The fights and verbal matches inside hostel and outside...
The bus trips to Vasco, Panjim and Madgaon, always ending with a ride in a truck/trailer back to college...
The puking sessions at Seagull's, and few others...
The bike rides across Goa, silky roads, salty swims and smooth sands...
The introspective walks to the lake...
The horror movies on the cricket ground...
The matches of soccer and table-tennis...
The races of NFS, with Gia and Mia...
The consistent singleton status...
The untimely loo sessions, much to the displeasure of the hostel assistant...
The use of agrabattis for unholy purposes...
The project outings and injuries...
The value-for-money food fit for survival, but not more...
The Borkars, Monginis, Shahi Darbar, IC, Nescafe and Gajalaxmi...
The Pyagraj, Velino, Jacinto and Preeti...
The loss of grades, goods and tempers...
The mute corridors on parents' arrival...
The rampwalks in audi...
The interviews, discussions, rejections and, finally, selection...
The library that never failed me when it came to cars...
The CC that always betrayed me when it came to programming...
The friends who always stuck to me, through happiness and heartbreaks...
The girls who misunderstood us, through SMSes and e-mails...
The poker and bluff...
The view of the river beyond...
The sky all around...
The home away from home...
The best years of my life... :-)
Here's to us, BITSGians! For we will be here, always :-D

Invincible truth!!

As a young lad, once Subroto Roy Sahara was yelling at the washer-man for ruining a pair of his favourite jeans. His father, late Sudhir Chandra Roy, overheard him and came over. After listening to his son, he told his son to apologise to the washer-man... Later, his father explained to him the reason behind it. He said,"You only have a right to criticise somebody when you have the ability to do the very same work better than them. Only then can you question their shortcomings! And since you are no good when it comes to washing your laundry, you had no right to yell at the washer-man that way."

godlyk Gokarna..

Its time to leave for Gokarna, bags packed and all... We reach the railway station and scoot about here and there, wondering where our train is halting and why isnt the announcement being made??!! Upon enquiry, it turns out that that particular train isnt gonna show up and that we have been fooled, once more, by the Indian Railways. Heads down, red-faced, we finally decide on going by bus, a full 5-hours journey through the foothills of Goa and Kanataka. Luckily, we all got seats at the back..
